Wallet Setup for Arbitrum Compatibility

While Metamask is a widely used wallet and the one we suggest for this guide, you are free to choose other wallets. Throughout this tutorial, we will proceed with the assumption that you are using Metamask, as it is a common choice. However, setting up any wallet will likely follow a similar process.

It's important to note that the settings for the Nitro network are identical to those of the previous Arbitrum One.

The simplest method to integrate Arbitrum into your wallet is via Chainlist. You can accomplish this without any manual input by following these steps:

1. Visit Chainlist.

2. Click ‘Connect Wallet’ and, when prompted, select 'Approve' from your wallet.

3. Search for and select 'Arbitrum One', then click 'Add to Metamask'.

4. Approve the subsequent notification from your wallet.

5. In the popup that follows, choose 'Switch network'.

6. You are now ready to utilize the Arbitrum network.

Alternatively, if you prefer not to use Chainlist, you can manually add Arbitrum to your wallet. Follow these instructions:

1. Open Metamask and access the network dropdown menu.

2. Click 'Add Network' when prompted.

3. Enter the following details on the 'Add a network' page:

   • Network name: Arbitrum

   • New RPC URL: https://arb1.arbitrum.io/rpc or https://rpc.ankr.com/arbitrum

   • Chain ID: 42161

   • Currency symbol: ETH

   • Block Explorer URL: https://arbiscan.io/

   After entering the details, click 'Save'.

4. Your wallet is now connected to the Arbitrum network.
